The Foundation celebrated for the 8 th consecutive year the event “One Day for Kids” at VanierCollege in the city of Montreal. This event benefited more than 440 children between the agesof 0 to 12 years old and this year’s theme was: A Healthy Lifestyle.
The Foundation donated food baskets in the city of Montreal where more than 80 families were benefited. People with disability, elderly people and complete families were benefited with these food baskets. We thank all our volunteers and our donors for the food donation allowing this event to happen!
In Montreal - Canada, the Foundation celebrated for the 3rd year in arow the event, “One Day for Seniors”, at the Senior’s home in Carterville. The Foundation benefited 55 seniors of whom 28 were women and 27men.
We thank the 25 volunteers who with great love helped to achieve this day that was full of joy!!
This past November 10th, the Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation held an Seniors Entertaining Event for the 2nd year at the Nursing home in Cartierville in Montreal. The Foundation benefited 42 seniors.
In Montreal, more than 250 children, in the company of their parents, enjoyed the celebration of A Day for Kids. This was a day full of teachings, which, through artistic presentations, playful activities, pedagogical and also the Hormy Show, sowed a seed of respect and love for others and themselves.a.
The past 21st of July, 2018, the Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation visited the Retirement Home in Cartierville in Montreal, where 43 seniors were benefited. They enjoyed a fun filled day where they received teachings in values, on being cordial and respecting others to live together in harmony and love, and that they are valuable beings.
The Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation carried out the Nutritional Workshop: Healthy and Balanced Lunch Box On June 2nd, directed in French by the nutritionist, Dt.PGeneviève Gagne from Ville en Vert. 41 familieswere benefited not just with important and useful information but as well, they were provided a food basket.
For the 4th consecutive year the Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation, with the help of the city of Montreal was able to do a clean-up day in the Ahuntsic park. With the helpof 43 volunteers, a general clean up of the park was done.
On March 24th, a composting workshop was held at the facilities of the Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation, in the city of Montreal. We taught how we can contribute with the environment by using the organic waste that we produce daily at home.
On February 24 in the city of Montreal, the Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation held a workshop on recycling, where the importance of recycling at home was taught as a daily and rewarding activity that can be done by all members of the family. On the other hand, with this training, we sought to generate environmental awareness and put it into practice on the day of our campaign to clean the Ahuntsic park.
Last Saturday, February 24th, in the city of Montreal, the María Luisa de Moreno International Foundation held the Fundraising meeting, where the activities and projects to be carried out during 2018 were informed.
On January 14, 2018 in the city of Montreal, the MLMIF carried out the market delivery activity, in which 84 families were benefited. For the first time it was possible to deliver dairy products, vegetables and fruits thanks to the collaboration of our donors. The Foundation also thanks the volunteers who contributed their time in this event.
The Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation celebrated on December 9th, 2017 the International Volunteer´s Day in the city of Montreal, Canada, where all the Foundation’s volunteers were invited to thank them and give them a special recognition for their work and support during 2017.
The past September 9th, The Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation accomplish the event “One day for kids”, took place on community center of Ville Saint-Laurent , 205 children were benefited with school kits.
The children has a big funny day, the thematic of the event was a simulation of a trip, which consisted in a turn of the provinces of Canada, they were accompanied by princess and super heroes, who were guiding in to headquarter for each province.
The Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation accomplish the event My Planet, My City and Me took place in the Ahuntsic Park, located on Lajeunesse Street in Montreal, Canada, On Saturday May 20th 2017. The activity was to do a general clean-up of the park, separating the waste, recyclables, leaves and branches.
In the month of April 2017, the Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation restarted the French Conversation class for the Intermediate/Advanced level for the Spring Session.
This course is offered to people who wants to improve their pronunciation et the listening of the French language. We have the support of a devoted teacher that makes the class dynamic with day-to-day subjects. Each week, two classes of 50 minutes are given at the offices of the Foundation.
During the month of March and April 2017, the Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation helped 16 women, 6 men and 1 senior citizen file their income taxes, a total of 24 tax returns were done.
The tax clinic’s main objective was to aid people who need help in preparing and filing their income tax returns for the year 2016. The tax clinic is meant for people who are not able to file their own tax returns or are not able to seek professional help due to their modest income and due to their simple fiscal situation.
In the month of February the Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation provided adult diapers and sanitary pads to people living in the greater Montreal area, who do no have the necessary financial means to buy them and taking into consideration that the cost of diapers and sanitary pads can range from $500 to $700 a month. The drive was done with the help of the MLMIF volunteers, who donated their time, gas, and their desire to help out people in need.
The Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation On January 14th, 2017 held a Food Drive were 80 families were helped. This event took place in the Montreal office of the Foundation, where free coffee and snacks were provided while people received their food baskets. In addition, 20 volunteers helped us in organizing and distributing the food baskets given out that day.
The Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation – Canada, is providing a workshop in legal advice in Montreal where 15 people have benefited from this help. This workshop has been offered since August of 2016 with the help of 2 lawyers who have more than 15 years expertise and specialize in immigration.
The Maria de Moreno International Foundation, Montreal – Canada compromised with the needs of our community, volunteered at the community center Mission Bon Accueil this past 15th of December 2016. The tasks included the identification, classification, and care of items offered at the Mission Bon Accueil’s boutique; a boutique aimed for persons in need and of low incomes. The foundation volunteered to highlight the value that the foundation gives to helping and caring for others in order benefit the community.
The Foundation celebrated on the 3rd of December 2016 the International Volunteer’s Day. Present were 61 volunteers who were vital in fulfilling all the different foundation activities with great success for the year 2016.
The Foundation on the 26th of November 2016 in the city Montreal Canada, carried out the last day of the English, French and Spanish Courses, in the office of the foundation in Montreal. This day was to celebrate the volunteer teachers for the time and love dedicated to their students throughout this fall session, and to also recognize the improvement of the students in the English language. With these language courses the Foundation benefits about 52 people of different nationalities.
For the 5th consecutive year, the Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation organized One Day For Kids event on Sunday, August 14th, this year in the city of Montreal, Quebec where 110 children have benefited from school kits, prizes, piñatas, gifts and snacks.
It was a day full of fun activities where kids between 0-12 years old participated in nursery rhymes and zumba children; they also enjoyed various musical presentations and the play "No Bullying or School Harassment" in charge of the young volunteers of the Foundation, from whom they learned values such as respect, tolerance and solidarity.
The Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation celebrated “Senior’s Day” in the city of Montreal - Canada. More than 45 people attended to celebrated and participated in wonderful activities such as, zumba classes, thematic photography sessions, conferences about healthy habits and nutrition, etc.
